Lara Rieken
In her younger years, the Soprano Lara Rieken has already performed a varied repertoire on international stages as an opera and concert singer. Engagements have taken her to renowned venues such as the Musikverein Vienna, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Liederhalle Stuttgart, the Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb and the Rheingau Music Festival.
Her outstanding achievements have been recognised with numerous awards, including the National Singing Competition 2022, the 5th Vienna International Music Competition and the competition of the Fritz Wunderlich Society 2023. she was also a finalist in the competition SWR Young Opera Stars Her artistic development was supported by scholarships from the "Giovanni Omodeo Stiftung", the "Freunde junger Musiker Frankfurt e.V." and Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now e.V..
From the 2025/26 season, Lara Rieken will be part of the permanent ensemble at Trier Theatre. There she will perform as Blonde in Mozart's "The Abduction from the Seraglio", as Eliza in "My Fair Lady", as Flora in Britten's "The Turn of the Screw" and as Pamina in an adapted version of Mozart's "The Magic Flute" for young audiences. At Heilbronn Theatre, she previously sang the Zerlina in "Don Giovanni", accompanied by the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Risto Joost. She made her opera debut in 2022 as Princess Rossane in Handel's "Alessandro" at the ETA Hoffmann Theatre Bamberg, conducted by Gottfried von der Goltz. A CD production of Joachim Raff's opera "Dame Kobold", in which Lara Rieken sings the title role, will be released by the Naxos Music Group in 2026 - under the musical direction of Dario Salvi.
In addition to her opera work, Lara Rieken is also intensively involved with art song. At the "Liedstadt Hamburg" festival, she collaborated with Christoph Prégardien and pianist Marlene Heiß on an alternative song programme on the topic of The girl and death. In addition, the soprano in the role of Luise Hensel in "Rose, die Müllerin", a song radio play by Julian Prégardien and Johannes Held, produced by SWR2 Kultur.
Lara Rieken began her musical education at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts as a junior student at the Young Academy with Prof Thilo Dahlmann. She completed her bachelor's degree with honours at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, where she is currently continuing her master's degree in singing in Prof. Thilo Dahlmann's class.
Her collaboration with the soprano Julia Kleiter and the pianists Prof Götz Payer and Doriana Tchakarova provided important impulses for her artistic development. Masterclasses with KS Brigitte Fassbaender, Prof Marina Sandel, Roman Trekel and Peter Kooij rounded off her training.
