Lyric colouratura soprano
Lara Rieken

In her younger years, soprano Lara Rieken has gained an extraordinary amount of experience in public performances at home and abroad, covering the entire musical spectrum from oratorio literature to lieder, opera and operetta. These have taken her to the Musikverein Vienna, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Frankfurt Opera, the Liederhalle Stuttgart, the Stuttgarter Stiftskirche and the Rheingau Music Festival, among others.

Lara Rieken is a multiple prizewinner, including the Federal Singing Competition 2022, the 5th Vienna International Music Competition, the Fritz Wunderlich Society 2023, as well as a finalist in the "SWR Young Opera Stars" competition 2024.

Scholarships from the "Giovanni Omodeo Foundation" and the "Freunde junger Musiker Frankfurt e.V." complement her artistic career.

With Lara Rieken in the title role, a CD of Joachim Raff's opera "Dame Kobold" will be released by the Naxos Music Group in 2025, under the musical direction of Dario Salvi.

In the 2024/25 season, Lara Rieken will be heard in the role of Zerlina in Mozart's "Don Giovanni" at the Heilbronn Theatre with the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra.

In autumn 2022, the soprano made her debut as Princess Rossane in Handel's opera "Alessandro", conducted by Gottfried von der Goltz at the ETA Hoffmann Theatre in Bamberg.

Lara Rieken can be heard in the role of Luise Hensel in "Rose, die Müllerin", a song radio play by Julian Prégardien and Johannes Held, produced by SWR2 Kultur.

As part of the international song academy "Young Europe Sings", she also works with song duos from Slovenia and France.

She began her studies at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts in the class of Prof Thilo Dahlmann, initially as a junior student at the "Young Academy". She is now continuing her Bachelor's degree at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart, also with Prof Thilo Dahlmann.

Further impulses for her vocal development have been provided by her collaboration with the soprano Julia Kleiter, as well as with the pianists Hedayet Djeddikar, Götz Payer and Doriana Tchakarova, and masterclasses with Roman Trekel, Peter Kooij, Johannes Held and Capucine Chiaudani.
